Winter sports have been at home in Davos since 1883 at the latest - at this time the first sledge race took place. From then on it went on and on. The famous Davos sledge was created and later the world's first iron ski lift was put into operation in Davos.
Today, the Davos Klosters region offers around 300 km of snow-sure slopes with a variety of slopes for both beginners and professionals. Fun and action are provided by the halfpipe at Jackobshorn and the carver slope at Parsenn. Two toboggan runs on the Schatzalp and on the Rinerhorn guarantee fast-paced experiences even for non-skiers.
In the centre of Davos is the famous hockey stadium Vaillant-Arena. It is the home of our HC Davos, founded in 1921. Since 1923 Davos has hosted the international ice hockey tournament Spengler Cup which takes place annually between Christmas and New Year. For hobby skaters there is the Davos world of Ice - a world of experience on ice.
